Yoga

Welcome to my yoga page, it’s nice to have you here. I’ve been a yoga student for 20 years. I'm also a yoga teacher, teaching in Glasgow yoga studios since 2013. My classes are intelligently sequenced and layered, to make them as accessible as possible. You can choose from beginners yoga, slower paced yin or dynamic and flowing vinyasa yoga. Yoga is an ancient practice that originates from India. It means to yoke or unite and helps to balance mind, body, soul and promote harmonious living. Traditionally, the postures (asanas)  that are practiced in class are designed to prepare us for meditation.

Yoga Classes On Offer

  • Vinyasa Flow Glasgow

    Flow Yoga Glasgow

In this class, breath is used to thread a sequence of postures in a way that continuously flows, deliberately and intentionally.

Classes are intelligently sequenced, & can be adapted to how you’re feeling on the day. They are suitable for newer and experienced practitioners.

We don’t place a great deal of attention on alignment, because each body is unique and individual.

We move through each session intuitively , paying attention to sensations that arise.

A focus is placed on how the asanas (postures) and breath feel in specific areas of our bodies. It is intended that the movements help increase mindfulness and concentration, as well as bringing heat to the body and gently strengthening it.

  • Beginners yoga class Glasgow

    Beginners Yoga Glasgow

This class is suitable for anyone who is completely new to yoga, or has had a long break from practicing. A common misconception is that you need to be flexible to start yoga. I’ll meet you wherever you’re at. My beginners yoga classes in Glasgow are offered from a welcoming venue, the Wellbeing Hub.

You will learn simple breathing techniques, to calm the nervous system. A focus is also placed on the connection between breath and simple movement and postural awareness.

This is also an opportunity for you to get familiar with foundational yoga postures and ask questions. The intent of this class is to help you build confidence, feel calmer and gain understanding of yoga basics. Each class ends with a relaxation or guided meditation. I hope to see you on the mat soon

  • Yin Yoga Glasgow

    Yin Yoga Glasgow

Yin yoga is a soft, restful and yielding practice that helps reduce feelings of stress and soothe our nervous system. Postures are done on the floor using various props, aimed to release tension and apply a healthy stress to connective tissue, ligaments and fascia, in areas such as the shoulders, hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. Postures are held for 3-9 minutes. This practice boosts circulation and enhances mobility in ligaments and joints.

In this mindful practice, we bring awareness to sensations in the target areas of the body. Duration of time is important as we work with the breath and gravity to let go and release the body.

During the darker part of the year, we practise in candlelight, to create a cozy and ambient atmosphere.

  • Gentle Yoga | Glasgow | South Lanrakshire

    Gentle Yoga Glasgow

A class for beginners or anyone who wants to move at a slower pace. This mindful practice opens with 1-2 restorative or Yin Yoga Postures.

We bring awareness to our breath and sensations in our bodies in preparation for a slow, flowing vinyasa sequence where we expand our connection of breath to the way we are moving on our mats. This morning class will gently refresh your body and mind, calm your nervous system and set you up for the day ahead.

Although the pace is slow, the advantages to be gained are increased self awareness, mobility and strength, both on and off of your mat.
